Dr. Scott Soderquist, more commonly known as "Dr. Scott", is a Chicagoland native and spent the early years of his life growing up in Bolingbrook, IL. Dr. Soderquist is a 1993 graduate of Bolingbrook High School, lettering in football, baseball, and wrestling, achieving Academic All-American honors in football. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology in 1997 from Illinois Wesleyan University. He then obtained his Doctorate degree with honors from the University of Illinois in 2001, graduating 3rd in his class. During his time at UIC, Dr. Soderquist earned numerous academic achievements, including Top 3rd year Dental Student by the Illinois State Dental Society. Subsequently, Dr. Soderquist stayed at the University of Illinois, where he completed a three-year orthodontic residency and obtained a Masters degree in Oral Science. Dr. Soderquist is Board Certified and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Soderquist went on to publish his Masters thesis in the American Journal of Orthodontics after graduating from UIC, and he has helped co-author other research articles as well.
Dr. Soderquist joined Associated Orthodontists in 2004, and he is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Will County Dental Society, American Association of Orthodontists, Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, Illinois Society of Orthodontists, Chicago Dental Society and is also a member of the American Cleft Palate - Craniofacial Association. Currently, he serves on the Will County Dental Society Board and as a Delegate to the Illinois State Dental Society. He is also a certified Damon System Educator. Additionally, Dr. Soderquist has volunteered time to the Will and Grundy County Medical Center, Plainfield Central High School Career Day and to the "Give Kids a Smile" program. Currently, Dr. Soderquist serves as President of the Midwest Damon Study Club.
Dr. Soderquist and his wife, Angela, currently have three children, Nathan, Ella, and their newest addition to the family Olivia. In his spare time, Dr. Soderquist enjoys computer gaming, golf, off-roading with his ATVs, spending time with his family and friends, and most recently, playing Rock Band and Guitar Hero III with his son!! |
