AO joins nation's orthodontists to fight bullying

Associated Orthodontists is joining the American Association of Orthodontists and 19,000 orthodontic professionals nationwide to fight bullying by supporting Stand for the Silent — a nationwide organization that brings awareness to bullying and the real devastation it causes. Throughout the month of October, AO will take stand and will encourage their patients to do the same for National Bullying Prevention Month and National Orthodontic Health Month.Over the years, teeth have often been reported as a main feature targeted by bullies. Additionally, studies by The New York Post and show that 7/10 Americans admit to feeling self-conscious about their teeth and  70% of young people have seen bullying in their schools.“A long-standing mission of Associated Orthodontists has been to support the needs of and give back to the communities we serve," said Julie Gardner, director of practice development with Associated Orthodontists.
