With a mix of heartfelt gratitude and bittersweet sentiments, Associated Orthodontists is announcing the retirement of Dr. David Cortopassi. After 37 years of practice at AO, Dr. Cortopassi’s last day will be June 17, 2026.
Since his junior high school days, he knew that he wanted to be the person who created new smiles, built confidence in people and shared their delight once that final bracket was removed. He pursued his orthodontic dream and graduated in 1983 from Loyola University Chicago, then later obtained his dental degree from Loyola University School of Dentistry in 1987. He continued his education at the University of Illinois-Chicago where he completed his master’s degree and orthodontic residency in 1989 — and that same year joined the AO family!
“Thirty-seven years of smiles, but the greatest gift wasn't the result—it was the family I found along the way,” said Dr. Cortopassi. “My partners and my team at Associated Orthodontists became my strength, and my patients were my purpose. Thank you for allowing me to do what I love!”
For his next adventure, Dr. Cortopassi will be taking a big family trip and spending time with his grandchildren. He is also looking forward to volunteering more, traveling, reading, and riding his bike.
